About Us

It’s great to hear about EWB-SOM’s mission to improve the capacity of under-served communities in Somalia through innovative construction projects. It’s also commendable that the team is engaging local engineers and working with EWB-International to provide exposure and high-level knowledge.
The focus on building education facilities, health care centres, industrial facilities, residential buildings, telecommunications, and water projects, as well as alternative energies such as solar and wind, shows that EWB-SOM has a wide range of expertise and can contribute to various sectors.
EWB-SOM intends to contribute to meeting the Millennium Development Goals, particularly in eradicating poverty and hunger, building feeding roads and markets in agricultural areas, and constructing water points for livestock, while also building and renovating schools and learning centres for under-served and marginalised communities.
As a member of EWB-International,  EWB-SOM complies with its policies and procedures to ensure high-quality service delivery and  dedicated to making a positive impact on communities in need.
Such as constructing borehole wells of  in different communities with  elevated water tank for the community  to provide access to clean and safe water.  EWB-SOM installed a solar water pump using alternative energy sources to power infrastructure and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Installing a solar water pump is an environmentally friendly solution that can help reduce carbon emissions and lower energy costs in the long term. Moreover, providing access to clean water can have a significant positive impact on the health and well-being of the community, especially in under-served areas where clean water may be scarce.
