EWB-SOM is engineering NGO Organization, member of EWB-International and founded in 2014, by well-known and expert engineers with purpose of improving the capacity of under-served communities in Somalia through providing innovative construction spectrum, from smaller renovations to mega projects .
To meet this objective, EWB-SOM endeavors to engage local engineers to link with EWB-International to provide exposures and high level of know how.
EWB-SOM is member of EWB-International in which we are an active member of the organization, exchanging, contributing ideas and projects.
The founders recognized the dire need for the country to embark on new engineering technology and keep up-to-date with the global fast development of the industry. Utilizing local and economical materials.EWB-SOM team specializes in building education facilities, health care centers, industrial facilities, residential buildings, hotels and resorts and telecommunications as well as water projects and alternative energy (solar & wind).
EWB-SOM intends to contribute in meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) number one and seven through eradication of poverty and hunger for building feeding roads and markets in agricultural areas, construction of water points for livestock while building and renovating schools and learning centers specially in underserved and marginalized communities. While EWB-SOM plans to be a member of EWB-International, it ensures to comply with its policies and procedures. Also it guarantees a high quality service delivery.
